Mitchell Marshall Sr. is a child of our loving God. Born on November 26, 1955. He was a beloved son,
brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend. He died unexpectedly in his home town of Blakely, Georgia
on July 10, 2020 at the age of 64.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his father Joseph Marshall, his mother Florrie B. Marshall, and his
brother Bobby Joe Marshall.
Mitchell is survived by his true love and “forever” wife Mattie P. Marshall, his children; Lawanda
Patterson (Marshall), Detinna Webb (Marshall), Latosha Mitchell (Marshall), and Mitchell Marshall Jr.,
his brothers; Solomon Brown, William Bouges, Kelly Marshall, and Lewis Marshall, his grandchildren;
Nakia Hickey(Giles), Anthony Giles Jr., Deshawn Giles, David R. Brenny, Indya Webb, Zion Webb, Ivy
Webb, Nijay Cook, Lenora Byrd, Abbi Clark, Dalissa (Nicole) Davis, Zoey Curenton, Zachary Curenton, and
Chandler Nicholson, his extended family; Montez Bommersbach, great-grandchildren, many nieces and
nephews, and his lifetime friends.
Mitchell had a youth filled with endless hopes and dreams. He was self-taught on the guitar. Music was
a love that filled his soul. Some of his favorite artists were Al Green and Betty Wright. He loved cars and
learned to be a skillful mechanic.
He served our country in his early years and was a United States Marines Corps Veteran. He was one of
the best in his group in the military and carried the flag.
He had several business ventures after he was honorably discharged from the Marines. He finally settled
in to his most loved occupation, a mechanic. He loved everything from cars, to trucks, to motorcycles to
boats. He was mathematically inclined, intelligent, and was able to do most anything.
Mitchell was a kind, beautiful soul. He would help anyone that needed help. His sympathy would exceed
his own best interest many times. He would literally give you the shirt off his back.
Mitchell loved God, his family, and his friends. He is loved and will be missed. May he rest in heavenly
